Giving new hope to the families of missing loved ones. The problem: Every 15 minutes, one person disappears in Australia. Opportunity: Every 15 minutes, there are 180 million searches on the Internet. What if the search bar on every website could help locate these missing people? The idea: On 16th February 2015, the Missing Person’s Advocacy Network launched Help Find Me. Across websites, search bars shared faces of missing loved ones. The customised pop-up banners could be shared across social media and displayed a contact number in case any related information had to be reported. The result: In just the first week, faces of missing Australians were seen 600,000 times. Social media chatter ensured more people joined in the search. And once the idea was featured in over 150 publications, that number only grew.
